Winner to Advance to Free Flow Tour Finals in SaltLake City

 

Burr Ridge, IL — May 27, 2008 — Clayton Lane took the title in theskateboard park contest this weekend at the Free Flow Tour’s Hampstead, N.C.stop, edging out some tough competition to become a winner on the 2008 Tour.

 

Following Saturday’s skate action at the Skate Barn, Lane,14, won the skate park competition, while 16-year-old Cameron Redwine tooksecond and Jake Miller, 13, rounded out the top-three finishers. 

 

After the Free Flow Tour’s open round finished, the judgeswere split between Lane and Redwine and elected to have a skate-off todetermine the winner. The pair squared off in a six-minute jam session, withLane pulling out the win to earn a berth in the Tour finals in Salt Lake City.

 

“Both kids were neck and neck the whole way. They were bothreally good, which made it hard to decide on a winner to send to the finals inSeptember,” Jimmy Ellington, President of Operations of Skatebarn, saidfollowing the competition. “It just goes to show how competitive the Free Flowcan be.”

 

With the win, Lane earns an automatic bid into the Free FlowTour finals that will take place at the AST Dew Tour’s Toyota Challenge, September11-14, 2008.

Four Winners to Advance to Free Flow Tour Finalsin Salt Lake City

 

Burr Ridge, IL — May 19, 2008 — Mark Nicholson of Durham, N.H. andBrian Kucharski of Monroe, N.J. took home the skate park and vert titles,respectively, at the Free Flow Tour’s Rye, N.H. competition, the first stop ofthe 2008 season. Also pulling out wins at Rye Airfield were Nicolai Rogatkin ofLincoln, Mass. (BMX park) and Kevin Colla of South Winsor, Conn. (BMX vert).

 

Following Saturday’s BMX action at Rye Airfield, Rogatkin,12, took home the BMX park title, while Colla, 21, won the BMX vertcompetition. Nicholson, 18, claimed the top spot in Sunday’s skate parkcontest, and Kucharski, 17, earned the skate vert victory.

 

“It was fun, and everybody was killing it at the Free FlowTour. I’m glad I came out on top,” Colla said after his win.

 

“It was crazy. I had a blast,” Rogatkin stated, whileKucharski added, “Never give up. I know I’m not going to until I win the FreeFlow Tour finals.”

 

“Salt Lake City, here I come!” Nicholson exclaimed aftertaking home the skate park victory.

 

“With a trick list that reads: 720, double tail, rodeo flip,backside lip on a 15-foot quarter, backflip tailwhip, 540 on a seven-footquarter, flairs, downside whip to icepick and consistent head high airs invert, you would have thought this was the AST Dew Tour and not the Free FlowTour!” Rye Airfield’s general manager, Beau Lambert said after the contest.“Todays pros better watch out because these young bucks are hungry and crazy,or is that crazy hungry?”

 

With the wins, all four earn automatic bids into the FreeFlow Tour finals that will take place at the AST Dew Tour’s Toyota Challenge,September 11-14, 2008.

 

The Free Flow Tour consists of 50events across the U.S. and features 30 skateboarding (24 park and six vert) and20 BMX (16 park and four vert) competitions. Encompassing the ‘Flow to Pro’theme, the two overall skate and BMX park champions and the two overall skate andBMX vert champions win a wild card spot to compete against the pros at thefinal stop of the AST Dew Tour, the PlayStation Pro®, in Orlando,Fla.
