Winner to Advance to Free Flow Tour Finals in Salt Lake City

Burr Ridge, IL — July 22, 2008 — Reed Levine won the skateboard park competition this weekend at the Free Flow Tour’s Nashville, Tenn. stop, becoming a winner on the Tour’s 2008 season.

Following Sunday’s action at Sixth Avenue Skatepark, 15-year-old Levine of Nashville, Tenn. took home the skate park title, while Andrew LaPenna, 16, and Wesley Lawson, 17, took home the second- and third-place honors, respectively.

After the Free Flow Tour’s open round finished, the judges were split between Levine and LaPenna and elected to have a skate-off to determine the winner. The pair squared off, with Levine pulling out the win to earn a berth in the Tour finals in Salt Lake City.

“I’m really psyched to get to the finals and skate with so many sick skaters,” Levine declared following his win.

“This year’s contest brought in kids from all around Tennessee and the surrounding states, and that definitely made for some amazing skating,” Kyle Sloan, Sixth Avenue Park Manager said. “Everyone in the finals skated so well that the judges were completely split on who the winner was and had to have a final Final to make a decision. In the end Reed Levine took first place with his creative use of the entire skatepark and some really gnarly tricks. Congrats to the winners, and thank you to everyone who came out to skate and support!”

With the win, Levine earns an automatic bid into the Free Flow Tour finals that will take place at the AST Dew Tour’s Toyota Challenge, September 11-14, 2008.
